As a skin care company owner I hear this statement often "what makes my skin break out?". It is a tough question to answer. There are several contributing factors to chaotic skin, but in my experience the number ONE reason is hair.
Acne breakouts and chaotic skin outbreaks vary in each individual, but one of the biggest culprits of breakouts is the hair on our face and body. Yep! Those tiny little hairs that are barely visible to the eye reek havoc on our face and body.
When the hair follicle becomes clogged with dead skin cells, dirt, debris and oil then it becomes irritated, inflamed and red.
Most acne appears on the delicate skin of the face, but can also show up on the back, chest and shoulders. Severe outbreaks, if left untreated can leave the skin damaged permanently and even scar.
Bacteria is another culprit of outbreaks, our skin is subject to bacteria, environmental hazards, dust, pollution every second of every day.
There are a number of helpful natural ingredients, to help fight back, and remove pollutants from your skin. Melaleuca (Tea Tree Oil), Peppermint, Eucalyptus and others help fight bacteria on the skin, Vitamin C skin care products help our daily battle by fighting free radicals, pollutants, and other environmental threats. Finding these ingredients in your skin care can be found by reading your ingredient list on your skin care product.
The list is long, and each skin type is different, finding the right product takes a little time, effort and lots of questions! Do your research, find your skin type and then find a product that meets your individual needs.
Here are my tips on achieving healthy beautiful skin!
Some people are more prone to chaotic skin episodes than others, some never have a breakout (lucky) and others fight it for life, despite what the majority of advertising and marketing materials may say. BUT using clean, healthy, natural and organic ingredient products, just as we use clean, healthy, and organic food to fuel our bodies, you can keep the irritations and chaotic episodes under control.
Our skin is delicate and fragile, and should be treated as such. Keeping a routine regimen is essential and takes commitment, just like exercising, drinking plenty of water, and keeping our bodies healthy.
Last, but not least, skin care products are not miracle cures. Skin Care is only as good as the commitment you are willing to put into having beautiful natural skin. Nothing will work to help manage your chaotic skin, if YOU don't put in the time.
Sorry, I know it goes against everything we as women have ever been told. Beautiful, healthy skin at any age, will have flaws, embrace those flaws and love the skin you are in.
Our skin is the body's largest organ, and often the most abused.
Being aware of what your exposing it to is vital. Slathering chemical laden ingredients such as body lotions, shaving lotions, exfoliates that have "fillers" and "synthetics" in them is just a tip of the iceberg for the damage we cause our precious skin.
Using natural and organic ingredient skin care and body care products can help reduce the number of irritants your skin comes in contact with each and every day. Not only are your reducing the amount of irritants you put on your skin, your skin will start looking healthier, happier and beautiful.
Time and time again we see articles stating that an ingredient, that was approved by the FDA as "safe" has not been. Johnson & Johnson being the latest news headline, reveals that some of the ingredients they used were in fact "cancer causing" ingredients.
The problem with skin care and the multi billion dollar industry is not a mystery, not rocket science, in fact it is all about marketing, getting the MOST money for your product, being the BEST on the market, and selling as much product as you can with low investment and high return.
And as women consumers, we fall prey to this every single day.
For us, unfortunately, many of the "safe" ingredients (synthetic or chemical) bombard our bodies with contain endocrine-disrupting phthalates or parabens, and these can cause reproductive issues and are often linked to cancer causing risks.
So in short, the more you are exposed to them, the more they concentrate in your body. Reading your labels, learning what to avoid, and taking an active role in the products you use can help reduce your exposure to most irritants and synthetic ingredients.
With a little research you can find safer skin care products, by reading labels, asking questions to the manufacturer and smart shopping. More time than not you can find responsibly-made products to help you maintain a healthier skin, body and live a healthier lifestyle.
Here is what a smart shopper should look for when considering skin care products:
An organic or natural skin care routine is one of the best things you can do for your skin to promote healthier skin.
What you put ON your body, should be as important as what you put IN it, has been and will always be a good rule of thumb. If you are using natural skin care, and eating as clean as you can then your skin will reflect beautiful healthy skin right? Not all the time, sometimes, bacteria can cause breakouts, just like synthetics can cause breakouts, so keeping your skin CLEAN as well can help reduce these issues.
Washing, exfoliating, toning and moisturizing each day helps keep this bacteria OUT of your pores, and using natural ingredient products is a great way to do that. Here are some other good rules to follow:
Most important, remember that having beautiful radiant gorgeous skin is an ongoing process, takes time and effort and is not a destination you are working toward.
There are NO miracle skin care products that "make you look 10 years younger", or " erase wrinkles and fine lines" sorry, well, wait, there are, BUT there is a price to pay for embalming your skin. Yep, you heard me. Embalming your skin, preserving it with chemical loaded synthetics for a TEMPORARY appearance.
Look, time is a vicious thing when we are trying to look "beautiful" , and as women we have been lead down a marketing path targeted just for us, because manufacturers know we want to look " young" "beautiful" and have " instant results" and these companies have made millions off these ads, you know what I am talking about right? Taking charge of this type of marketing is crucial, read ingredients, learn what synthetics are harmful, and make an educated choice. It takes time to make the switch, but it is worth the investment in the long run.
Approaching "getting older" is difficult, and often not even thought about until we are in our 30's, we want to change this whole perspective of "youthfulness".
At Lisa32 Skin Care LLC. We don't make promises, we don't use heavy targeted marketing ads, or even say "this is the best thing since sliced bread" we just offer, honest, clean, healthy skin care products that are heavy plant based, heavy oil based, and nourishing to your skin, to feed the skin vital nutrients to be as healthy and beautiful as your skin can be.
