This time of year, we all get really thankful and count our blessings. I know I do. I am so blessed to be doing what I do, thankful for amazing customers and blessed again by each and every one of you who support my little business. For me it is Christmas every day though!
I don't know if you all know or not, but my son is in the military. We are so very proud of him, and his selflessness of serving our country, protecting our freedoms and just being a good guy. Of course I am going to say this, he is my son. He teaches me every single day to be a better person, he always has, taught me. As his mom, he taught me patience, understanding, and an unconditional love between a parent and child. I have always tried to respect his opinion, as he does mine, and had him make his own choices, no matter what the consequences may be, he was responsible for every action and reaction he sought! I don't often speak of how grateful to him I am. Every. Single. Day.
Being a military mother, is not an easy job, but I honor and respect his decision, and support him in every single thing he does, says, or is involved in. So, he is my blessing always! It is a lonely job, sometimes, being a military mom, dad, sister, brother and family in general. There are things we can't share, stories that will never be told, of bravery, outstanding accomplishments, promotions, assignments etc. And we, as a military family, know these things, but sometimes it is hard, we WANT to share, but sometimes we CAN'T share. Of course if you don't have a close personal relationship with our #armymom mentality, then you would not know, or possibly understand these things! We had to learn them as well. It's just a new way of looking and dealing with life's little ups and downs.
So, if you do know someone that has a family member serving in the military, sometimes, they just need a hug, a blessing you could say, from you. A simple gesture of "hey, I am thinking of you" is all we need to get through a tough time. The toughest times, are deployments. We sometimes don't even know WHERE our soldiers are going, WHEN they will get there, HOW they will get there and WHO they are with. But one thing is certain, WE FEEL EMPTY.
I have discovered a strength within myself I never knew was there, aside from burying my thoughts within this company, and not thinking of what his path might be for that day, but there have been many nights, days and hours, spent staring at my phone, praying for a phone call, a text, or even a facebook post, just some kind of activity. I guess what I am trying to say is this, No matter what you may be facing, no matter the situation, we all have the strength to take just one more step. The holidays are difficult, we have lost loved ones, spend time alone, have to work, can't make the trip, miss dinners, family time, etc. But remember, please for me, that YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL! I love each and every one of the eyes reading this post, and pray each and every day, for ALL OF YOU! I pray over my products, I pray as I am customizing orders, I pray pray pray. Because if YOU can believe in someone you have never met before, like I believe in you, then you can get through anything! My son has taught me this, being a part of something bigger than yourself!
Strength is from within our amazing souls, and is just waiting for us to take hold and move! Just find your strength, in whatever manner you have to, and believe in your inner strength.
After all, This is the season for believing right? Well... I believe in you, and I am blessed by you, and I love you! Anyway! This is kinda random, but the holidays are tough, and I just wanted you to know, you are loved, you are prayed for, and you matter. We all matter!
And thank you son, for being such a blessing, and teaching your mom, how to be a better person. I am so proud of who you are, what you stand for, and your ability to see though the outer shell of humanity, and always find the good! You are amazing, and I love you to the moon and back!
